Amethyst and Philistines
By Jeffrey L Williams
in my world the sky is amethyst
philistines are the majority
and the only thing worth fearing
is immortality
there is no silence
we are encapsulated with softened noise
masquerading as a running brook
or even rainfall
It was a mission of understanding
underneath the facade
mocked by its mystery
charisma at her best
deceitful, cunning and clever
standing before me
as I try to understand the unexplained
motion signals for truth in honesty
and humbled by the stubborn
ending where i began
staring into the sky made of amethyst
philistines are the majority
and the only thing worth fearing
is immortality
there is no silence
we are encapsulated with softened noise
masquerading as a running brook
or even rainfall
It was a mission of understanding
underneath the facade
mocked by its mystery
charisma at her best
deceitful, cunning and clever
standing before me
as I try to understand the unexplained
motion signals for truth in honesty
and humbled by the stubborn
ending where i began
staring into the sky made of amethyst
