Brave Smiles
By Laura Zucca-Scott

It was the last Christmas
The first we did not spend together
And it felt different
With more tears
With more memories
Tasting love melted in loss
Yet we talked
And we hugged from a distance
Voices
Tingling
And brave smiles
Waiting for a new spring
That never came

Sad, but something a lot of us can relate to.
