Contributor Series 6: A Currency of Words
Words
By Mildred Speidel
She said yes
He said no
Then a maybe
would soon
echo
I love you so
Well I love you
Then what’s
the problem
with “I do”
I’m not sure
Well neither
am I
So that ended
it all
She did not reply
Silence is a word
that everyone can
hear
It never finds a voice
but its message is so
clear
Mildred Speidel’s poetry has appeared at the prompts page of vox poetica in 2010 and will appear at the today’s words page in the fall of 2010.
What a beautiful word is “silence” and how beautifully expressed here. It’s complexity, the possible interpretations, and the wondering… We wonder whether we’ll be able to talk to another. We should be wondering if we could be SILENT with that Other…
“Silence is a message everyone can hear…” Oh, were truer words ever spoken? Wonderful sentiment beautifully written. Something I need to remember.
Your message rings clear! Good write.
Thanks to all of you that gave me a vote of confidence. Boy, did I need it!!
I do not know Jean, but her comments were gracious and appreciated, just as the others were. Thanks again….Mildred
