The Omnivorous Restaurant Critic
By Neil Ellman

In the end
he eats his words
when nothing else is left
but syllables en croute
sentences beurre blanc
bouillabaisse
of mindless sounds
homographs that taste the same–
his bitter tact
upon his tongue.

Neil Ellman’s poem Horse’s Skull with White Rose appeared at vox poetica in December 2010.
