It's just poetry, it won't bite

Day Come Lightly

Molly Frederick’s most recent poem to appear here was “Power of Wild” (July 2019).

Day Come Lightly
By Molly Frederick

The blue sky, and how it disappears
into its own vision of tomorrow.
Then the full, high clouds,
piling in together,
as they huddle soft with pink.
How I enjoyed this day where the future
did not loom, nor raise a question.
Once in a while perfection is reached.
And—without anything unusual
to announce it—it happened today.
