Fall Again
By Harris Tobias

Fall again

You’d think we’d learn
What to expect at Summer’s end
The last big party
The confetti trees and all those silly hats
The beach party was a ball
Roll up the big green blanket now
And go inside your burrow
Still, it’s a shock to think it’s done
There are too few salads between the radish and the squash
Too soon the summer turns from growing to gone
