Goodnight, Goodbye
By Darryl Willis

For Brittany

Goodnight Moon was the story I read
you as you fell asleep in my arms.
I couldn’t bear to let you go
even to tuck you in. I know
too soon the moon would fall and
the sun would rise and you’d be gone,
all grown up with places to go.

Touching and poignant is just a few lines. Good job.
