He’s a keeper
By Sarah Endo
He’s had the same box of staples since
college, which means the staples
are at least 17 to 21 years old
They’re tarnished some
but still hold things together
He wrapped a piece of Scotch tape
around the box of staples
He’s a keeper
Oh Sarah, how delightful. I just used the last of a thirteen year old box of staples, yesterday–honestly! Thank you for a perfectly timed poem!
I could really identify with this one. I think I’m married to this keeper š Thanks for sharing your work on voxpoetica.com
Thank you, Jean! I’m so glad this poem was in sync with you. š
Thank you so much, Nancy! Those keepers– they’re keepers!
Thank you Sarah. Your poem made me smile especially when I realized our staple box once belonged to my husband’s uncle!
