Richard Luftig is a former professor of educational psychology and special education at Miami University in Ohio. He currently resides in Pomona CA. Richard is a recipient of the Cincinnati Post-Corbett Foundation Award for Literature and a semifinalist in the Emily Dickinson Society Award. His poems have appeared in numerous literary journals in the United States and abroad in Japan, Canada, Australia, Europe, Thailand, Hong Kong, and India.

Historians

They do not know
or don’t agree
on such essential
opinions of fact

as these. But we do;
poets traveling among
New Worlds creating
whatever history

we will, filling
up lives
with our own
alternative endings.
