Lost Dog
By KC Bosch

Lost dog
sleeping
in the shade
of round bales.
Dreams
as deep as carrots.
Drawing life
from dark earth.
Green stalks sway
in the breeze.
Farmer in Carharts
at the Stock House bar
doing some swaying
of his own.
Why did she leave?
We had such
a good thing
growing.

  1. Such a visual. I wonder why did she leave.
