Jeanette Cheezum’s most recent poem to appear here was “Intoxication” (July 2016)

By Jeanette Cheezum

Every time we piled in the car and left the city;
my thoughts were filled with the peace and quiet,
of Grandma’s house.

Good smells mixed with a lot of love would lure us
through the unlocked door into her kitchen.
Followed by soft hugs and kisses we knew this
was a place of love and memories.
