Pillows Talk
By Elizabeth Dublin

Pillows talk
as I fold the sheets.

What they have
to say is rough

on the ears
but no surprise.

I knew but
didn’t want to know

about the blonde
and the ginger

about the bourbon
and the gin.

I never wanted to be
wife number 3.

This will be
the last time

I fold
the sheets

and listen to
the pillows talk.

  1. Great last line. I’ll pay more attention to my pillows now.
