Red Tulip
By James H Duncan

the red tulip
waits
on the table
wilting, fading
holding
on without water or
sleep

in the sun

and it always
will, like you, somewhere
without
me

    James,
My grandfather died when I was young. His favorite flower was the red tulip so your words resonate and I remember. Thank you for sharing.
