secrets
By Jacob Greb

voyage of secrets in the tombstones of my eyes
the dam that keeps the crashing waves from flooding
there is no trickle

as a hostage taken into obscurity, taped and ravaged
that noose that’s holding my life
unable to spill the truth

the beauty shaded grey as the storm burrowed through my land
my body laid in despair and not mine
a taken advantage

and now frugal in my exchange of words, of love, of touch
the void, the entrapment of senses
my apologies

nothing to give you but my broken self
the damage of classified files in the cabinet, in between the pages
find me

help me find me dear and peel the secrets layer by layer

Such pain captured and translated. Great expression.
