Solitary Confinement
By Serena Tome
internal embers
do not slumber
two halves walk
dark as sparrows
the air is scented lies
tears drench threads of silk
colors bleed into pools of liquid nostalgia
like wind curled into summersaults
hollow oak without heart
This brought back memories for me. There was a time when this was my story.
Fluent and touching.
Very poignant. Well done.
