The Anchors of Our Lives
By R Martin Basden

The anchors of our lives
are these simple truths
which persist
though we repeatedly
throw them away
surprisingly find them
over and over
dressed in borrowed clothes
slouched in the shadows
of our indiscretions

smiling

I love the message and the metaphor. The last lines are great: dressed in borrowed clothes
    slouched in the shadows
    of our indiscretions
    smiling
