I wrote this for you

I wrote this for you
By Julie Ellinger Hunt

After sucking in all the helium balloons,
you finally quieted down in my arms
and let me kiss you from the top of your head
down to your bitty belly,

Wiggling and begging for more.

I traced the map of my future
along the lines of your spine
but you held back a few years
so I chased you in circles until you surrendered

A pile of us in the middle of the living room floor.

After we made love for the third time,
you drifted to sleep nestled deep inside my armpit
so I took your lip liner with my opposing hand and wrote this
out of order on your body.

Later, we took several hours but managed to decode this and put it here …
