May Day
By Elizabeth Dublin
Forsythia blooms late this year
behind the last of the daffodils and hyacinth.
The dogwood drops its petals in ribbons,
a pink and white maypole, dancing.
Labor and leisure, yin and yang
dominate the discourse in certain circles
but neither is any good without the other:
the cyclical soap opera set on a garden stage.
lovely visual.
