Moments
By jd young

I cry for moments passed.

Those I did enjoy
And should have accepted.

Those that hurt someone
And I knew when it happened.

Those I chose not to appreciate
And became more stubborn.

Those that were received badly
And I should have known.

Those that offered comfort
And I did not accept.

Those that sat on my lips
And I did not set free.

Those that might have healed
And I kept so very silent.

Those that caused mayhem
And I enjoyed the moment.

Those that I cannot take back
And haunt me daily.

I cry …

–So sayeth the Muse

Ah, moments, indeed. We’ve all experienced some of these moments, I’m sure. Well said.
