Supernerd

Don’t think I don’t remember
Everything you did and said to me
From the playground to the classroom
You sad I wasn’t funny
I had a lisp and stupid hair
Too gay to function
And far too nerdy to have friends
Sure words are just words
And I appeared to be shrugging it off
On the outside
But on the inside
I felt as if my heart had been torn out
And given back to me with no remorse
Gandhi said that
You should be the change you wish to see
But I had so little power to do so
Look at me now, though
Being a nerd is not such an insult
And I know my wisdom will take me far
I don’t know who I am
Or who I want to be
But I know I’m doing better than you
Cause I don’t smoke pot
I don’t do one-night stands or hook-ups
And I don’t do shit for shits and giggles
Who cares if I have no plans
On a Saturday night?
Or if I read for pleasure?
I’ll look like a superhero
At the end of this childish war
So thank you for making me a supernerd
Yay! Hurrah! Hel-lo!!!! Keep it up–both the living and the writing! I LOVE you! Jean
Powerful poem that shows a lot of self-awareness.
Yeah! That was magnificent!
So very powerful! You are a superhero, Gianluca!
