Tears
By Michael Copeland

When the pain comes, my mind
aches with longing. A touch will
stop the torture of you.

With one eye crying a tear of love,
and the other a tear of despair,
the senses glow with passion.

Your sweetness resides in my
tortured mind. Your smell attacking
my very senses and more.

The longing builds within my heart
for another brief moment, a smile,
a wisp of perfumed hair

Alas you are not to be, ever again,
the memory grows cold with time
and the pain wells within my mind.
